Step 1: Create a Password Reset Disk for Windows Server 2008

Step 2: Modify BIOS to Boot from Windows Password Reset Disk
Boot your locked computer. When it is powered on, check the boot-screen for setup key (e.g., DELETE key, F8 key, F2 key) to enter BIOS Setup Utility.
Choose the BOOT menu and set Boot Device Priority option: Set the 1st Boot Device to CD/DVD-ROM. Press F10 to save your changes.
Step 3: Reset Windows Server 2008 Password
Insert the Windows password reset disk into the CD-ROM drive of your Windows Server 2008 computer and restart the computer. The boot loading screen should appear immediately.

Reset Windows Local Password: Select the Windows SAM database (e.g., C:\Windows\system32\config\SAM), the program will automatically list all local user accounts. Select a user account and click the Reset button to reset the password to blank.
Reset Windows Domain Password (For Active Directory server only):: Select the Windows Active Directory database (e.g., C:\Windows\NTDS\ntds.dit), the program will automatically display a list of Active Directory accounts on Windows Server 2008. Select a user account and click the Reset button. The password will be changed to Password123 by default.
