Step 2: Modify BIOS to boot from CD-ROM

Boot your locked computer. When it is powered on, check the boot-screen for setup key (e.g., DELETE key, F8 key, F2 key) to enter BIOS Setup Utility.


Choose the BOOT menu and set Boot Device Priority option: Set the 1st Boot Device to CD/DVD-ROM. Press F10 to save your changes.

Step 3: Reset Windows XP password

Insert the burned CD/DVD into the CD-ROM drive of your Windows XP-based computer and restart the computer. The boot loading screen should appear immediately.

Reset Windows Local Password: Select the Windows SAM database (e.g., C:\Windows\system32\config\SAM), the program will automatically list all local user accounts. Select a user account and click the Reset button to reset the password to blank.
